UKPN's AI portal fast-tracks 10,000 EV charger grid connections in first year

A smart portal has fast-tracked connections for more than 10,000 electric vehicle (EV) chargers during its first year of operations, according to UK Power Networks (UKPN).

The electricity distribution network operator, which launched the Smart Connect system in February 2021, said the portal has slashed the notification time for installers from ten days to a few seconds across London, the south east and east of England.
