Intelligent Octopus Go x waEV charge Partnership

Summary

Intelligent Octopus Go is now compatible with waEV-charge. The integration brings 8p/kWh smart charging to waEV-charge customers, backed by the personal, human support that has made waEV-charge the highest-rated home EV charger on Trustpilot in the UK.

waEV-charge now fully integrated with Octopus Intelligent tariffs — plus 2,000miles free charging

The UK’s highest-rated home EV charger on Trustpilot is now fully compatible with Intelligent Octopus Go, pairing the country’s most-loved customer experience with its most popular EV tariff.

waEV-charge today announced that its smart home chargers, the EV1s (untethered) and EV1i (5m tethered) are now fully integrated with Octopus Energy’s smart EV tariffs, including Intelligent Octopus Go, the UK’s most popular EV tariff. The integration brings 8p/kWh smart charging to waEV-charge customers, backed by the personal, human support that has made waEV-charge the highest-rated home EV charger on Trustpilot in the UK.

From today, waEV-charge owners can link their EV1s or EV1i directly to their Octopus account and control charging through the Octopus app. All smart charging is billed at the off-peak 8p/kWh rate, even when sessions run outside the standard 11:30pm–5:30am window, potentially saving drivers up to hundreds of pounds a year compared to a standard tariff. A simple “ready by” time ensures the car is charged and waiting for the morning commute. The integration is delivered through a direct software connection with Kraken, Octopus’s proprietary energy-tech platform. Charging is scheduled intelligently around grid demand and carbon intensity, so every session is cheaper and greener, without the driver having to think about it.

“Our customers tell us every day that what they value most is knowing we’re there when they need us, that’s the promise behind our Trustpilot rating, and it’s not an accident. Adding full Intelligent Octopus Go compatibility means our customers now get some of the cheapest, greenest charging in the UK, delivered through the team and the product they already trust. It’s the combination we’ve been working toward: hassle-free, cheaper, greener EV charging, without compromise.”

Joe Fogel, CEO and Founder, waEV-charge

“Every day, more drivers are switching to Intelligent Octopus Go for cheaper, cleaner miles and we’re delighted to welcome waEV-charge to the lineup. Their focus on customer experience fits exactly with what we’rebuilding: an energy system that works brilliantly for drivers while supporting the grid.”

Launch offer: 2,000 miles of free charging

To celebrate the integration, waEV-charge offers a £50 bill credit to customers who purchase an EV1s or EV1i and switch to Intelligent Octopus Go. This credit, equivalent to around 2,000 miles of free charging at the off-peak 8p/kWh rate, is available to new waEV-charge customers and existing or new Octopus customers joining the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff for the first time. Chargers must be bought between 1 June and 1 September 2026. To claim, customers must register their details at www.waevcharge.co.uk/software/intelligent-octopus by 31 October 2026.
