Yes. Manual charging is still available when needed. Once your vehicle is plugged in, a Boost option will appear on the main Dashboard screen. Selecting Boost will immediately begin charging outside of your smart schedule.
Your Dashboard shows charger status, charging history, connected devices, recent charging sessions and reward balances.
If the integration disconnects for any reason, such as the vehicle manufacturer service going offline, the charger will default to charging at the maximum rate during the configured off-peak charging period, provided the vehicle is plugged in.
You do not need to be with any specific energy provider or tariff for your EV charger to work, it’s just advised to speak to your energy company as most offer off peak charging tariffs which can save you a significant amount in charging costs if utilised.
No. Tariffs such as Intelligent Octopus Go, EON Next Smart and OVO Charge Anytime cannot currently be used in conjunction with waEV-smart smart scheduling or rewards. These tariffs require the energy provider to have direct control over charging sessions, which conflicts with waEV-smart scheduling functionality.
