No. Vehicle integration is optional. However, integrating your vehicle allows waEV-smart to read the vehicle state of charge directly, meaning you can set a target battery percentage rather than selecting a specific kWh amount.
Standard installation covers installation of your waEV-charge EV charger on a brick or plaster wall, a maximum run of 10m of cable from the wall-mounted position to your consumer unit (fuse box), with no civil or remedial electrical work required.
At present, waEV-smart does not support Smart tariffs where charging must be fully controlled by the energy provider. If Smart is selected during setup, the app will display an error message explaining that this tariff type is currently unsupported due to a control conflict between the supplier-managed charging system and waEV-smart scheduling.
