How do I update my charger firmware?

Open the waEV-charge Installer App, select Owner Settings, choose your charger, enter the Access Code, select Firmware Update and enter firmware version 49.59. Wait approximately 5 minutes after confirmation before proceeding.

Can I have an EV charger for my apartment?

The waEV-charge EV chargers are suitable for both single domestic dwellings, apartment blocks and commercial environments. As standard, our EV1i charger is setup for single domestic properties however our UK based team will custom build your charger based on your requirement.

What should I select if I’m on a Smart tariff?

If your energy provider requires full control of charging sessions, we currently recommend using the provider’s native smart charging functionality rather than waEV-smart scheduling.

Can I still manually charge my vehicle?

Yes. Manual charging is still available when needed. Once your vehicle is plugged in, a Boost option will appear on the main Dashboard screen. Selecting Boost will immediately begin charging outside of your smart schedule.

How do waEV-smart rewards work?

waEV-smart rewards are based on the number of eligible smart charging sessions completed each month. Currently, customers completing 3 charge sessions or more will receive £5, 15 charge sessions or more will receive £10, and 30 charge sessions or more will receive £15. Customers must also have a compatible SMETS2 smart meter installed and be on an eligible dual rate tariff to qualify for rewards. Rewards are not guaranteed and are subject to change. waEV-Smart reserves the right to change the amount of rewards at any time via email notice to you.

How long is the warranty on your charger and any equipment installed?

All waEV-charge units come with a three year warranty, any materials installed in conjunction with the waEV-charge e.g. new consumer unit comes with a 12 month warranty.
