waEV-smart allows you to automatically schedule charging during off-peak periods, optimise charging around your energy tariff, connect compatible EVs directly, monitor charging sessions and history, earn rewards and manage your charger remotely.
At present, waEV-smart does not support Smart tariffs where charging must be fully controlled by the energy provider. If Smart is selected during setup, the app will display an error message explaining that this tariff type is currently unsupported due to a control conflict between the supplier-managed charging system and waEV-smart scheduling.
Authentication allows waEV-smart to optimise charging around your tariff and access eligible smart charging features and rewards.
The EV1i is a tethered EV charger meaning it comes with a 5-meter cable attached to plug into your car. The EV1s is untethered meaning you are able to connect your own charging cable. The EV1s does not come with a charging cable.
A cost-per-session feature is currently being added, which will allow users to enter their electricity tariff pricing and view estimated charging session costs.
If the integration disconnects for any reason, such as the vehicle manufacturer service going offline, the charger will default to charging at the maximum rate during the configured off-peak charging period, provided the vehicle is plugged in.
