A Single Rate tariff means your electricity costs the same price all day and night.
waEV-smart participates in flexibility services designed to help balance demand on the UK electricity grid. Charging can be intelligently shifted to lower demand periods or times where more renewable energy is available, helping reduce grid strain while still ensuring your vehicle is charged when needed.
You do not need to be with any specific energy provider or tariff for your EV charger to work, it’s just advised to speak to your energy company as most offer off peak charging tariffs which can save you a significant amount in charging costs if utilised.
If the integration disconnects for any reason, such as the vehicle manufacturer service going offline, the charger will default to charging at the maximum rate during the configured off-peak charging period, provided the vehicle is plugged in.
If the route of cabling or the charger location crosses any boundary lines that are not owned by yourself, permissions would be needed from the relevant authority for it to be installed.
Please ensure your charger is connected to WiFi, your phone remains nearby during the update and you wait the full 5 minutes after confirmation. If issues persist, please contact waEV-charge support.
