What is a Standard Install, and what does it cover?

Standard installation covers installation of your waEV-charge EV charger on a brick or plaster wall, a maximum run of 10m of cable from the wall-mounted position to your consumer unit (fuse box), with no civil or remedial electrical work required.

Other commonly asked questions

Can I use waEV-smart alongside tariffs such as Intelligent Octopus Go or OVO Charge Anytime?

No. Tariffs such as Intelligent Octopus Go, EON Next Smart and OVO Charge Anytime cannot currently be used in conjunction with waEV-smart smart scheduling or rewards. These tariffs require the energy provider to have direct control over charging sessions, which conflicts with waEV-smart scheduling functionality.

What is the delivery time?

All online orders are shipped on a next day service and dispatched same day if ordered before 12pm.

Will the app show charging costs?

A cost-per-session feature is currently being added, which will allow users to enter their electricity tariff pricing and view estimated charging session costs.

Do I need to update my charger before using waEV-smart?

Yes. Your charger must first be updated to the latest compatible firmware version before app setup can begin.

How secure are waEV-charge EV chargers?

The waEV-charge EV chargers can only be operated once the unique RFID waEV-Card is swiped or ev.energy smart charging app is activated therefore you’re fully protected from unauthorised use.
